‘Surrounded by the Sea’ was made for the Branchage Film Festival 2014.
I stitched together multiple paper doll style figures, linking them together, to represent the island community. The figures have all been cut out by different people in fabrics chosen to represent themselves. The majority were produced by the children and staff of St. Lawrence School. Somewhere amongst them is a one-eyed man, alluding to the film ‘A One Eyed Man in the Kingdom of the Blind’ which was shown during the festival. |
